The corn plant is a classic. It has been taking over corporate America for the last 40 years and for good reason. As a member of the Dracaena family, "Mass Canes," or Corn plants, are one of the easiest and most versatile interior plant available.
Dracaeneas typically are tolerant of low light spaces, and they adapt well to areas deprived of direct sunlight. Like many plants, a bright filtered light spot is preferred, but the Corn Plant will be just fine away from a window and in bright artificial light.
Water this Corn Plant every 10 or 15 days. Give it a good drink, and then let it dry for the next few weeks. It is always better to underwater than overwater this plant.
- An office classic!
If you can imagine a plant somewhere, it most likely is a good spot for the Corn Plant. It perfectly fills an empty corner with its tall and thin shape, making this Corn Plant a great choice for both home or office. As it matures, a Corn Plant's leaves can grow up to 24" long, growing into an even more attractive tropical plant.
